Since the release of the Destruction Derby series, there has been increasing interest in extreme driving games. Sports Car GT is the latest offering available.
After a new benchmark was set by the release of TOCA 2, new releases have struggled in this genre. Sports Car GT is yet another game that falls into this category. Upon starting, it is apparent that only the standard game modes are available, but through increasing playing, other modes become unlocked, such as the Master League.
The game revolves around a "Win and buy" scenario, giving the player the ability to upgrade their basic cars to potential race winners. The races themselves are performed on simple tracks, wide in nature and presenting the player with little challenge.
Graphically, the game lacks realism and there is no sense of speed represented. It seems that Sports Car GT was only created to profit from the interest of this racing genre. For a true recreation of the sport, look no further than TOCA 2. -- Alex Leung © Amazon |
